Remember the role of oxygen in hypothermic lung lavage?

[+] Remember the Newsweek article about the role of oxygen in hypothermic lung lavage?

In the recent harris postings on CF I haven't seen anything further on this. Harris' Alcor talk in Oct might refer to it-- but why not do it now? Harris dismissed the Newsweek article-- even though there was a valid CA study on this. Harris writes in a way that is difficult for the neophyte to read-- so he might have dealt with it but I can't tell. I don't think he has.

Nobody from Alcor or CI has dealt with this article either-- this new phenomenon that's been discovered that is changeing emergency medicine. Newsweek has run 2 recent articles on topics related to low temp medicine and avoiding death. The trouble with cryonics is that few blog on it and so there is little opportunity to make refreences to imporatnt reference points like this. FD, the moderator of Cold Filter-- de facto-- tries to stimulate and guide discussion in his own way but somehow the main idea of the Newsweek article was never dealt with in that threaded forum. The link above will go to a non-threaded no-pop-top forum where it may be easier to get a handle on the situation.
