UAGA-- AZ update-- first since 1968-- review

[+] Here's a CF post where we see a repost of an AU post where there is discussion of the UAGA update-- and how it affects cryonics and Alcor in AZ. This discussion occurred in early 2007-- and there has been no discussion of it since then. It's difficult to say if it warrents discussion or not-- however it is interesting to me on a continuing basis since it is related to "real cryonics"-- in the sense that it's a hard-core topic-- not like some of the other things we see slated for presentation at the Alcor conference.

Basically, in my view, the conferences are useless. I have to say that I'm not interested. Because... the fact is that these topics are chosen without apparent concern for what it OF CONCERN in cryonics. They all seem to me to be more related to two functions-- 1. fulfilling possible requirement for 501c3-- and so are padding and filler -- 2. marketing for attracting new members or maintaing existing members in a state of acceptance with the appearance of apparently authoratative figures in cryonics. To me, it doesn't even look like an academic conference-- but more like Fuller Brush conference. Futher, I'm not happy with conferences at all in any guise anyway. The penetration of ideas doesn't get too far... and the selection of topics is not discussed beforehand using forums and blogs-- and google video. Cryonics has FAILED to adapt to the internet-- and is being yanked into it-- uphill. The conference, to me, is a dodo bird. It's extinct. It's as if we're living in 1973 or something.

My alpha blog-- right here-- sets a new standard for surmising the IMPORTANT things in cryonics. I've always felt that a quarterly system of truncation would be appropriate and I've tried that here-- and it kind of works-- I'm gettting happier and happier with it-- as it penetrates the cryonics community cryo by cryo-- with cryos crying all the way-- bashing me. But someone's gotta do it.

Note the exquiiste beauty of the alpha index below. You can see in an instant what the priorities have been for an entire quiare-- and now I can update my thoughts on UAGA-- at least from my vantage point-- and YOU can easily find it-- not like M+'s blog where he stubbornly refuses to alphabetize-- in Maxim's case, she's new to blogging but I would encourage her to set an alphabetical standard for herself in oh eight. M+ should know better by now.
