Summer (JuAugSep2007) opens with the public hanging of Suspended Animation, Inc.

The current situation seems to be that the cryonics community is waiting on the report of the latest cryonics suspension case by SA Inc. It appears that the general attitude is wait-and-see-what-they-report-- despite the overwhelming evidence offered by MMaxim that SA is not capable of doing what it advertises. She has gone so far as to suggest possible medical malpractise-- and the debate over that term involves whether it's a metaphor or legal. More unssailable, in my view, is the term "false advertising". Maxim has promised her own blog to continue to expose SA Inc's internal problems-- in the meantime-- the public hanging continues at the threaded forum Cold Filter linked in Useful Links at the very bottom of this page.

NOTES

1. It begins to appear to me that SA Inc can only be understood in a context that includes a full disclosure and history of the group know as South Florida Cryonics Association or something like that-- originally housed in a building on Hollywood Ave. in Hollywood Florida. Mike Darwin visited the lab-- in 1984 and so it appeared that it was connected with Alcor. However, it was not-- as it turns out. The entire effort by Saul and Bill with SA appears to me to be a repetition of the failed operation in the 1980's. The mystery to me is why Bill and Saul refuse to become fully supporting members of Alcor like everyone else. My latest thinking on this is that they see Alcor as Fred and Linda's operation-- and professional jealousy might be a part of the motive here. I could be wong-- but what I'm seeing is at least consistent with this theory.
