Perception-- Phillip K Dick

The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words. George Orwell made this clear in his novel 1984. But another way to control the minds of people is to control their perceptions. If you can get them to see the world as you do, they will think as you do. Comprehension follows perception. How do you get them to see the reality you see? [+]

I found this while browsing google for "norman bedford" + cryonics. I browsed for that becuase it appears Maxim has uncovered CPlatt's use of that name on CF-- and I believe that name-- norman-- must allude to the son of Bedford the first frozen man. Norman Bedford established the Bedford Foundation to take care of his father in cryonic suspension but appears to have changed his mind and have used the money to buy an airplane and live the high life instead. Nobody knows what ever happened to Norman Bedford-- although I was briefly in contact with Bedford's lawyer's daughter-- on Ken's forum awhile ago-- Dante Brunol (I recall him as a lawyer but I could be wrong-- need to review my notes)-- -- The chance finding of PKDick on perception was pure fluke-- or typical googlarian synchronicity-- a sort of meaningful coincidence to me-- Apparently, Bedford's son's lawyer tried to stop the preservation of Bedford at the last minute. Ettinger is now posturing on CF-- someone needs to ask him. I doubt he'll answer. He ought to at least point to a reference--

Normanfell-- would refer to the fact that nOrman bedford "fell" into disfavor in cryonics or in the position he was in. CPlatt is an experienced science fiction writer-- and would be able to concoct suggestive names like that-- but would fail to realize that others around him will liekly recognize the references. Maxim hasn't known cryonics long enough to know about that reference. If she reads this she will now-- I MIGHT be wrong here-- but this is what comes to my mind when I see normalfell and CPlatt in one post.
