Maxim's question of the day & FD's continued diversionary tactics.

Fd has taken diversionary thought control tactics to a new level at Cold Filter. She/he is now trying to raise questions about Alcor's emergency response capability. [+] That, in itself, is a great topic. I'm curious, myself, about what the current status is-- right now. Everything FD asks about this important issue is relevent and timely and important. However, the priority of issues at this moment in time, in 2007, is the question raised by cryonics community discussion leader Maxim who posted the Question of the Day in her blog regarding SA. [+] [FURTHER DISCUSSION ON THIS POINT]

There IS a way to look at cryonics from an over-head aerial point of view where a thoughtful person can survey the field-- and view the highlights of a year or month-- or a week-- but it's exceedingly difficult. To back away from the proverbial forest requires a level of interest and disinterest at the same time-- moving the back from the central issue to see all issues-- to view context-- is tricky business.

Alcor's response capability is an issue-- it always has been-- but as we survey all the issues this summer-- from the point of SA's conference-- we see that Maxim popped up out of nowhere-- at least in terms of cryonics publishing-- to expose some rather strange goings-on at SA-- which is ostensibly acting in the interests of cryonics-- but is it really? Then we had the latest CI case where there was no trained perfusionist-- which led to blowing up the venous system of a CI member who didn't apply to SA-- who COULD have-- who actually went to the conference and turned down the option-- despite being able to afford it-- whose son SAYS he was interested in carrying out his father's wishes-- who DID NOT WANT TO WAIT 15 MINTUES to pull the plug so the SA team leader could get properly prepared--

FD has been attempting to suppress the magnification of SA's blunder by Maxim-- and has been working very hard to take the readers' minds off of the situation there-- with respect to the perfusionsists. This latest attempt is exceedingly clever-- pointing to Alcor-- it took me some time to decode that tactic-- and it IS a tactic.

Saul Kent and Bill Falloon are Alcor members. I now view them as RENEGAGE members. They obviously don't like being members of Alcor. They want to occupy the "slot" in the world called "cryonics" by themselves. A thought crossed my mind the other day-- that is still interesting to me today... that is-- cryonics firms have guarded against takeover by outside groups in the past-- so they set up what they believe is an anti-takeover political system. However, have they guarded against the takeover of cryonics by a wealthy cryonicist? I'm not sure they have.

Now we see FD and even Mark Plus-- refer to Alcor elections where the board votes itself back in to power. Saul Kent is on Alcor's board. If Saul is voted back into position at Alcor, it would be understandable-- he is the "super-power" in cryonics right now-- unfortunately. I would have thought there would have been other big money involved in cryonics by now-- and there likely is-- but not enough to displace Saul Kent-- who, as Maxim points out in her blog-- underwrites SA and is apparently preparing to underwrite a CPlatt video training program for perfusion... which perfusion was botched with C81.

This entire scene continues to not make any sense. And cryonicists continue to not get it. FD continues to use diversionary tactics. It's astonishing. Maxim continues to point to the key problems. Cryos continue to NOT respond in her blog (other than ME!!)-- People use to refer to the Iron Curtain during the Cold War between the US and USSR. Well, maybe we have a Cold War in cryonics too-- and we can call the paradox I'm seeing here "the Cryonics Curtain". What's behind the Cryonics Curtain? Like the shadows on the Cave Wall that Plato referred to in his allegory, we at least KNOW that the shadows we see are not THE thing itself.

In a wider sense, I find it continually amazing that the internet and improved communications solved nothing for the world at large and for cryonics. It gave us the illusion of getting somewhere. The true "final frontier" in my view, is not "space" as Captain Kirk said, but rather "truth". And to voyage further into the universe of truth requires development of creative reasoning far beyond what any man has reasoned before. Without fundamental training in how we KNOW things and what KNOWING means-- cryonics will stall-- as this entire inquiry into SA has stalled-- and as civilization may stall.--
