Ettinger-- CF post

[+] One of the two fathers of the modern cryonics ideas (the other being Ev Cooper)-- has posted to CF. I was just about to post a link to Ben Best's "kissoff" post on CF that he made a short time ago disparaging public discussions-- and then this appeared.

Ettinger's most reliable "pseudo blog" is Cryonet's author cross reference under his name-- as is true for most cryonicsts who have published online.

It's hard to understand what Ettinger is reponding to exactly here-- he doesn't give us a link to the post he refers to and doesn't build a context too well. An itinterant reader is going to be lost. I think Ettinger's intention here is to appeat to be present-- without having anything significant to say at the moment-- and to simply remind everyone of that point which he cites-- Pichugan was lead author-- in a Cryobiology journal article-- that should "count for something"--

Given the current controversy over SA's handling of C81-- Ettinger's sidestep of that-- could be construed as more misdirection-- than anything. The reference to initial cooling with dry ice is not explained-- where was that? Overall-- this Ettinger post is "out of synch"-- and has to be explained-- if ONLY for the feature that Ettinger is not a regular on CF--- why did he post there today?

Ettinger needs an alphblog. Of course, you-- one of my now 4.5 regular readers (one of them being the .5 halfwit)-- would have known I would have said that. Certainly you would agree with me that Ettinger's post is disjointed here-- out of contact with where the general tone of discussion is on CF. I mean-- he doesn't even post a link. Certainly there ought to be someone in his house who could help him do that right?

This post raises more questions than it answer for me-- it raises the point-- most importantly-- of what Ettinger's age and approximate state of health is-- because he's the first generation of cryos-- and must "have plans"-- so these are certainly worth reviewing. Maybe Ettinger is saying "I like the threaded discussion format, and I'm now here to listen and repond to quettions". maybe he's saying that. You have to interpret EVERYTHING in cryonics.
