Bbest knows how a lcoal cryonics operation whould work yet--

-- yet nothing he says was implemented at CI. [+] He descirbes in detail what a local group would do and one would think that the CI hq would be a goo local place to starte-- yet CI can't do any of this. What "local CI group" on the Planet Earth is following Bbest's protocol on this page? None? I'll bet that's true.

So Ben's page is theory. Even CI doesn't do this. Only Alcor does. Only Alcor is doing the local group operation-- involving an air transportable perfusion mahcine to do blood washout and viaspan organ preservatin solution as temp is reduced. Bbest doesn't mention the ATP here. Why not? A local group would have to have a perfusion machine and a perfusionist to do these things-- a medical perfusionist-- I would think-- not an ordinary morticiian type perfusionsist.

Ben's article is poortly written in a somewhat stilted reductionist style. It's his typical writing style. People normally think of Ben Best as a good writer. I don't. His voice doesn't carry through in a way that allows the reader to understand the dimensions of the problem all at once, and he doesn't back up to remind the reader of the context of any particular thing he's dealing with. He's a good "textbook" writer-- but it's just a really bad conversational style that doesn't flow well. There is no sense, after reading it, that you know and grasp what's going on-- what the priorities are and what the timeline is.
