Alcor's JChapman joins Chana's meetup group.

JC joined the meetup, officially yesterday. [+]. I have mixed feelings about "Meetup" groups. I think they're of dubious value. I'd rather see a local cryonics group that met at the Alcor facility officially under the Alcor impramatuer so that we could meet the Alcor people on call for emergency medical phase of cryonics. Or a cryonics real estate group planning and coordinaring a cryonics hotel. Any meetup should have an agenda. Are meetups just another version of suppression and control? At this point, my feeling is that everything that's public about cryonics is a front for what's not public about cryonics. And what's not public about cryonics is where cryonics is to be found. Everyone at the meetup has signed non-disclosure agreeements-- so the situation can't be good. You'd have to pay me to even consider going-- and then I still wouldn't.
