Steve Harris seems careless about temperature gradients-- to me anyway.

I'm not qualified to comment on technical stuff but comparing Maxim's notes with Harris's blurb on the Alcor conference site-- it strikes me that Harris (employed by Kent's CCR-- beside 21CM and wowk)-- is being careless about temp gradients. If I were a cryonics financial heavyweight who really was interested in cryonics, I'd be concerned about HOW FAST they cooled me. Harris seems to me to think it can be as fast as possible-- however-- given lung lavage-- (forgot the oxy component)-- we have a situation where professional retired hypothermic med clinician MAxim says no way. So what gives? I mean-- are cryos interested in cryonics or not? It makes me laugh that the the guys with money say nothing, and guys like me with nothing speak to the issue. I go to bed every night laughing my guts out. Money. I can take it or leave it. I certainly don't "love" it like some cryos do.

yet the 10°C safety margin is adhered to in heart surgery, all around the world....For Dr. Harris to have not ever seen any literature supporting the avoidance of too-rapid cooling on bypass, he must not have looked, at all. It's out there, and it's plentiful. Here are just a few examples:
