Melody Maxim's devastating and continual critique of SA since just before the SA conference was primarly published on Cold Filter in May, June and so far in July-- Now, she has shifted into a higher gear with her own blog. [+] A lot of the ideas published there are technically useful and constructive, however the ripping apart of the SA Inc situation in CF still has to be backed up and summarized, tagged and alphabetized. The truth about SA Inc, and Bill and Saul's effort here should be completely and thoroughly understood-- as a reference point in history. I consider Maxim's posts to be a continuation of the Conference-- which was originally billed as an intro of SA to the cryonics community. It turned out that the actual conference was NOT that-- and a lot of cryos went along to get along with that-- then paradoxically, Maxim came along and DID that introduction!
At this point, the blow by blow assault on SA's integrity has left an idea-scape of smouldering parts lying all over the place-- and there is a deathly silence over the internet chat/forum/blog landscape over the situation. Cryos have for the most part climbed back into their foxholes to lick wounds, regroup and strategize for the next round.
Historical View
As we all pause and take stock, this weekend, over the malignment of SA Inc-- it's useful to consider an historical view. Here's a useful Alcor.org article on the beleagered history of cryonics. [+].
I think it's useful to compare SA Inc with the original CryoCare and CSNY-- in the 1960s-- run by Curtis Henderson and Saul Kent. SA Inc., is in a way a reanimation of that original 1960s' Cryocare company due to the presence of the influence of the same Saul Kent. Cryocare was notably a for-profit company-- and today, SA Inc is still ostensibly for-profit. I think it's worth ruminating on this "financial profit" model for an Emergency Cryonics Rescue service that Saul has tried to put together for 40 years without success-- especially in light of the fact that SA Inc. has bled 6 million dollars over the past several years, according to Maxim. Not much of a profit there-- so it's hard to understand... unless-- unless the tax write-offs are worthwhile.
Tax Scheme
It seems to me in my nievete about larger financial matters, that any entity that successfully attracts money should have a counter weight that loses money. The spigot on the losses can be turned up and down according to the desired level in order to adjust the taxable income on other situations.
In the case of SA, the inflated salaries of underqualified personnel would indicate to me that there is desire for a larger financial entity to bleed off some income so that a tax bracket jump can be avoided. Tax brackets are like electron orbital shells... they don't graduate your tax-- the current Federal Government's unconstitutional IRS-- creates "level" of "money energY"-- and achieving a certain level will invite a particualr percentage of "rate of tax".
I've often thought about various businesses I see around me everywhere I go-- and it's hard for me to understand how they survive. Maybe they do NOT survive-- as profit-makers-- however. Maybe the idea of using a business as a ballast where you can throw money overboard to avoid tax bracket jumps is common. I've often wanted to look into this but because I'm on a lower level of income acquisition ability, I've never had the inclination or people around me to study this situation.
Maybe Saul and Bill really DO want an Emergency Cryonics Rescue service near them-- and maybe they really do want to do rsearch on the best ways to apply the findings of CCR in the field-- with the oversized lung lavage machine-- for example-- and inventions created by a science fiction writer. However, as true as that might be, could it also be that those are the components that allow the IRS to "suspend its disbelief" just enough to allow the write-offs associated with the effort? I realize this sounds tricky but this is the direction I'm going in my own mind with this.
The latest SA case report might be pivotal
In light of this speculation, I guess the latest case report does become more interesting as a whole than my previous focus-- which was how oxygen is introduced to an apparently dead person in attempts to either revive or prepare for preservation. The entire situation with all the delinated points in alphabetical order-- taken from Maxim's reports-- are still of interest-- but maybe we're on the cusp of seeing SA disband and dissolve. I found a page on the net where it appears to me that the SA facility in Florida is leased-- not purchased-- and lease renewal is due Oct 07. We'll see if SA still exists in November.
In the meantime, unless Saul and Bill have personal problems with the idea of Alcor's ECR services (emergency cryo rescue), I think it might be worth considering having these rogue operators reanimate their funding of Alcor's crew and lab-- for the benefit of all cryonicists-- and find some other way to reduce taxes with a money losing for-profit operation of some sort. If I'm right about tax write-offs, isn't it possible to reduce taxable income by donating to Alcor? This gets into the entire financial scheme of so-called 501c3's-- which it appears compete for money that has to be thrown overboard to avoid tax bracket jumps.
Melody Maxim--Her own blog has begun.
Melody Maxim emerged on Cryonics Cafe modelled Cold Flter in May just before the SA Inc conference, to critisize SA Inc on a number of points-- providing the cryonics community with the "real" introduction of SA to the cryonics community-- something the conference was to ostensibly do but which official conference turned out to be a general cryonics promotion intended for the respondees to the "tens of thousands" of flyers that were mailed out. (There are only about 1000 cryonicists). Now, MMaxim has started her own blog which may take us even further into SA Inc details in a more organized fashion, including possible alphabetization of key points via key words.
FUTURENEER
Futureneer posts will offer the "cryoneer" the full planetary context for cryonics that I believe is the most useful and true. By now, a lot of "cryonicists"-- definitions later-- know that I follow the ideas of Lyndon Larouche who has been smeared by the Globalist Imperialists over the past 50 years or so. They mostly buy into that smear campaign and associate me with that smear. What I see as true, however, cannot be changed by smearing. The depth of the Larouche analysis continues to be the most integrated and insightful analysis of world affairs and universal history I've ever seen. It's astonishing. It's a view that is, when you truly understand it and explore it for what it is-- which takes about 2 years-- lays the groundwork for the future that we all dreamed of in the heydays of the post WWII late-20th Century.
Now-- to be sure-- I have differences with Larouche-- for example, I now think that the Illuminati Freemasons faked the manned moon landings. That tin foil lander couldn't possible have had retrorockets push it along the flight path it presumably did without flipping over. It's rediculous that any of us-- especially Larouche-- believes that fantasy. Aside from that and a few other things. Larouche is definitely right about economics and physical economy. And cryonics, to succeed, if it is possible in principle to capture cognition in a hypothermic vitrified state (HVS), will certainly require a good physical economy as a precondition.
Finally, I came up with a new way to publish background ideas like Futureneer without taking focus away from the latest cryonics thought I've had. This is for blogger.com bloggers who wish to copy my excellent format. Basically, every day I'll create a few "blank" data bases entries which can be used later without being featured as "the latest" entry. The "latest entry" in a blog like this gets uniquely caught by the Google blogsearch spider and displayed. Only one entry per blog is displayed-- solving the spam problems. Multiple blogs are too onerous to manage-- so this formula works great. The latest Futureneer posts will be findable easily in the ALPHABETICAL INDEX below.
Cryonics background and ancilliary posts can be made via blank data base forms too. I'll call those by whatever keyword is appropriate. For example, I just added an entry to a blank form under "Blogs mentioning cryonics-- ". See the alpha index below date-stamped today-- and subtitled. I could also alphatize Cold Filter Archive posts too-- to draw attention to buried posts that are worthy. This is all about where a writer steers a readers attention-- a form of mind-control really-- or at least thought-control. Mind control would have an element of physiology. I'm not there yet--but writing is nothing less than thought-control.
