Harris...

Check your email from August 8, 2006, (my first week of employment at SA). You and I participated in a discussion regarding the EOPA pressure-monitoring arterial cannulae. We even discussed whether they were suitable for femoral cannulation, and I verified with Medtronic that they were. Do you really think a perfusionist with a decade of experience, was discussing pressure-monitoring cannulae, without having ANY cannulae?

SA had plenty of femoral arterial cannulae upstairs. During the time I was a consultant for SA, I spent several (unpaid) days sorting and organizing things upstairs, with Charles. I know he remembers me sorting the cannulae, because he whined about me spreading them out across the row of tables that were up there. I took one from each size of femoral arterial cannulae, and I banded them together, saying that was a suitable assortment for any adult case. I recall remarking that we would be in trouble if we had a very small child, and he said not to worry about it. The biggest mistake I ever made at SA was assuming Platt followed any of the suggestions I gave him, as a consultant.

You are being misled, Harris, but not by me.
