Melody Maxim's blockbuster blog post raises SA Inc attack to new level.

[+] Melody Maxim's latest entry to her blog includes these excerpts which I've keyworded.

CPlatt-- subversive tactics
Unless I were to suggest something that included a large number of design and fabrication hours for Charles, every suggestion was met, first with a myriad of invalid excuses and arguments, and later by subversive tactics designed to exclude me from the projects, even when they were related to perfusion technology, my field of expertise.

>>>I find the act of subversion interesting. You can't prove it emprically but it can be noted in witnessing the effects of subversion. It takes a higher level of analysis like Maxim's to decode this. Empiricists and criminals usually retort to analysis like Maxim's with "you can't prove it". "Proof" is a way of knowing things-- but there are other ways of knowing things too. And maxim is onto that epistemological method that William Hersch had a name for-- a type of reasoning-- heuristic reasoning.

CPlatt-- insistance on his own design
His design never functioned properly, even after a year, but he still wanted to continue working on them. SA could have purchased one of the FDA-approved medical devices for every eight-hour day Charles worked on his own.

>>>my comment-- what's behind this insistance? One exlanation I offer myself is that the "burn rate" is higher-- the "burning of money"-- to reduce some tax bracket somewhere. My thought is that SA is an intentional "well" where "too much income" can be 'thrown overboard"-- and that CPlatt is a Kent-circle insider who helps move that money in ways that make things look good. Maxim, however, might be pointing out the flaw in this scheme.... experts like her can detect the fraud by virtue of the unreasonableness of CPlatt's actions compared to what his actions ought to be.

>>>My comments are prefaced by >>>>-- Note that Ben Best made a positive comment about a CPlatt invention in his SA Inc report in the CI newsletter-- whatever it's called now-- republished in CF.... Best's comment was a possible salute to CPlatt in the face of Maxim's onslaught and exposure-- which raises an interesting question about Ben Best who is normally thought of as one of the better and more honest writers in cryonics. The position he's in is politically sensitive to be sure but at some point, the wreckage of SA according to Maxim is going to have to come across Ben's desk-- and it's going to be pretty obvious that he's intentionally withholding his acknowledgement of trouble-- with CPlatt. How long can he hold out?
To have made a positive statement about a CPlatt invention was pretty risque considering the trouble we see. Best is an empirical thinker however-- so unless something can be proved, he'll be like the rest of the "reductionist idiot savants" in cryonics and wait for "Proof"--.

CPlatt-- out of line
I am always willing to consider alternatives to my suggestions, even in regard to perfusion circuits, but for the two of them to order and test perfusion devices, without including me in this decision, was way out of line. They should have just come to me and said, "Hey, Mel, we found this sensor that costs a lot less than the ones you suggested," and I would have done what I did anyway,

>>>>I like how Maxim writes-- straightforward and bloody honest-- "way out of line"-- she's calling it as she sees it. God how I wish we had more writers in cryonics like her. This is the best new writer in cryonics in 2007-- maybe in several years.

Steve Harris-- cat claim
He was also receiving $500 a month for his Florida apartment, and a third party, in Arizona, was being paid $100 a month to babysit his cat, a cat that Steve Harris claims to have in California

>>>>Now that's strange. He he. What a soap opera. Harris is slowly getting twisted into this thing on several levels-- now this. This is like a Tornado of Truth-- a Truth Twister-- and the whirlwind is picking up all the stuff and throwing it in the air, letting it crash to the ground. I like truth twisters because I like the truth. You can't say that Harris' claim about the cat is irrelevent. There may be something more to this-- we have the cat by the tail. Watch out-- cat's don't like their tails held.

Website-- beginning of the end
the conflict over the design of the website was probably the beginning of the end, at SA, for Bary.

>>>>wow!! no kidding.

Matthew Sullivan-- CPlatt has tried to get rid of him
Charles Platt hand-picked the current staff members of SA, set the salaries, and requested frequent raises for them. With the exception of cryonicist Mathew Sullivan, whom Charles has tried to get rid of on numerous occasions. Other than Mathew, I don't think any of them even care about cryonics. Charles has set the salaries of these individuals, most of whom would probably earn in the $20-40K range, at $60-80K. I

>>>>man oh man-- this is July 2007 and this is a HUGE EXPOSE-- this is not going to go unnoticed on all cryonics forums-- this is incredible-- this blows any preconcpetions about SA totally apart..... SA as we've known it is finished. Total lack of credibility. This is very big. Note the SILENCE from the BIG WHEELS in cryonics on Cryonet, Alcor(dis)United and that lame imitation of Cryonics Cafe, Cold Filter.

[+] Much more but I gotta run. Thanks Melody Maxim for a great continuation of the famous-- now infamous-- 2007 SA Inc conference. ALL 100+ attendees including Ben Best are going to have to answer to these charges because NONE of them exposed or commented on the exposures of these absolute travesties that Maxim is pointing to. ALL of it-- the silence-- points to a cryonics conspiracy of silence where nobody wants to critisize Kent/Faloon. Go along to get along-- is not going to work. Maxim's July 2007 Blog start will lead to more unravelling I think.
